Mechanicville is striving to build its place in an ever changing Saratoga County and still maintain its identity as a family oriented city. Our city is composed of a mixture of ethnic and social backgrounds that all work together to provide a safe and nurturing environment for our children. Nestled along the Hudson River on the eastern border of Saratoga County the City of Mechanicville has always been known as a blue collar City. It has a history rich in factory and blue collar working class families. It is conveniently located as to provide easy access to the Adirondack Northway. Route 4 flows directly through the center of the city which carries a steady flow of North-South traffic which makes our city attractive to businesses yet does not overwhelm Mechanicville's small town appeal.

         With an ever improving municipal infrastructure and strong community  support Mechanicville is quickly becoming "the" place to live in Saratoga County NY. Property values have risen and our city is presently experiencing a revitalization of many homes in the city. Every place you look you can see the efforts to return Mechanicville to its past splendor. Plans are under review to revitalize the down town area and attract new business to our city. Many are anticipating the boom to Saratoga County with the building of the Luther Forest Technology Campus and Mechanicville is no different. City planners are working hard to evolve Mechanicville into a city that is compatible for the anticipated population boom and still retain its family orientated community. We are confident that our city will be the shining  example of "A Fine Place To Raise a Family"

      While not immune to the problems that all small cities face Mechanicville has not experienced a breakdown in cultural values. We have a strong and respected community of elderly citizens always ready to share their experience with our young people. We relied on their knowledge to help mold our city into a community that is the envy of its peers and a desirable community to live in. It as been a success. Mechanicville residents can still open their doors to strangers. Our children can still safely enjoy our parks and  recreational areas. Residents still enjoy a summers evening with their neighbors and expect a friendly greeting on a spring stroll. The children still laugh and  roll in the fall leaves. Neighbors still share the hardships brought about by winter. Is it any wonder that everybody loves Mechanicville . Come share in our future.
